Community care · TRE

A taught practice for releasing chronic tension.

Tension & Trauma Release Exercise (TRE) is a series of simple body movements designed to evoke the body's natural shaking response. Taught in small groups by certified providers.

What TRE is

TRE is a body-based practice developed by Dr. David Berceli. A short series of exercises fatigues the muscles that habitually hold tension — primarily the psoas — and elicits a self-regulated tremoring response that the body uses to discharge stored stress. It looks unusual the first time you see it. It feels surprisingly settling.

What sessions are like

Small group, in the Sky Studio, taught start-to-finish by a certified TRE provider. You stay clothed, on a mat, and entirely in control — you can stop or rest at any point. Sessions run about 75 minutes including the introduction, the practice itself, and a careful close.

Who it's for

  • People who hold a lot in the body and want a tool that doesn't require talking about it.
  • People doing trauma recovery work and want a body-based complement.
  • People in high-stress jobs, caregivers, first responders.
  • Anyone curious. The practice scales to your nervous system; you set the dial.

We screen briefly before your first session to make sure TRE is a good fit. If it isn't, we'll suggest something better.
